Golf course is now being better maintained and I
hope the progress continues. Always been a great
layout and a good course to be a member at although
green fee is steep.

11nov,,Played this course twice in one week.
Course in great shape and very challenging from blue
teebox. Played AB course. Caddie was good, her name
was NIN,, golden caddie at Springfield. Course is
very walkable, and plenty of places to purchase
refreshments during the round. It is high season, so
the rates are quite high. Very nice experience
nevertheless.

Just finished a round earlier today. Fairways
were in excellent condition and the greens ran very
true and were in really great shape on A & B. Too
bad the bunkers were also great, and very well
maintained especially considering the amount of rain
lately. ( they managed to coax my ball into a couple
awkward positions a few times!) Caddie I had was
very good and did a terrific job start to finish. It
was quiet in the early morning so the pace of play
was not affected when we played. Regardless
Springfields marshall is a great addition and I am
impressed how he typically makes sure the pace of
play is maintained from previous rounds. This is
where Springfield has the upper hand on the local
competitions courses, especially Lakeview in the
busy season and is a much needed quality assurance
issue that they need to maintain especially in the
upcoming peak season. Numerous friends feel that it
is priced way to high to play regularly versus the
neighbouring courses and I tend to agree. Basically
4000 + baht a round now if you do not happen to be a
member. One more good thing to point out is that the
staff are very friendly from Pro Sop to Spa and the
facilities are first class. Course was great today,
and remember that first cut of rough is tricky here,
so drop down and extra club and you will probaly
have better results?

A good golfing experience but not worth the
money. You can get the same or better for alot less
nearby in Hua Hin area. Fairways had alot of
standing water when I played. Caddies made alot of
unwelcome and unrequested comments about our play.
Best part of the experience was the clubhouse.

The A-B course is in excellent condition, a big
improvement from early last year. The new C course
needs to mature, has some beautiful sceneries, but
is too difficult for the ordinary weekend golfer.

Played for 2 weeks in the area, AB is in top
condition, fairways could be a bit better though.
Greens true and good pace for amateurs. C course is
now getting better. The closure did the course good.
3 Marshalls take care of good pace of play. Staff is
friendly and caddies are the best in the area. Price
: a little pricy if you have the pay the whole
price. Otherwise best Value 4 money around.

Just went there on New Year day 07, truly
disappointed on the over all condition at this price
(green fee bt3,500 for Thai). It should be less than
2k on this condition. Anyhow, the services and
facilities are quite nice! And the good part is the
consistent green speed....that's all folk!

The course is in good condition, best its been
for some time. Its a great course (A+B) C needs to
mature and D is being built. Its expensive 50%
higher than any other club in the area. The course
is well managed and the marshalls move people along.
The clubhouse is of a high standard and comfortable.
The staff are friendly but unfortunately service in
the restaurant is slow.

Expensive for the area if you have to pay walk
in rate. Course condition excellent on A&B, rough
challenging! We had two below average caddies and
one decent one, didn't keep up, know distances or

Trying to force customers to use the C course
will only turn people off this previously great
course. The C course is badly designed and in bad
condition. A complete rebuild of the 9th green is
required. Needs strong management here to sort out
the problems quickly. Could be a great course again.

Overall the A & B portion of the golf course is
very good and is an excellent challenge from the
back tees. The rough is very tricky due to the type
of grass used and you may need to use a lower club
to get the results you want?(Course A portion was
currently shut down for maintenance)They have
finally got the putting ad chipping green available
that was out of commission for over 7
months.(Heartland Golf School Section) The new C
course is not in good overall condition and the 9th
hole on this new addition has a very poorly designed
green. Considering the current cost and the fact
that it is rumored to be going up in the near future
they need to improve their course and I definietly
recommend not playing the C Course if possible.

Played Springfield last week and the course was
in its usual good condition. However, I find the
green fees terribly expensive for a weekday in May.
Further, it was a bit strange that the cashier
didn't issue a receipt. I wonder what that is all
about???

The condition of the course has improved
tremendously in the last month. It is all down to
using fertilizer on the tees and fairways -
something they hardly ever used to do here. Now
there is a beautiful growth of grass and the course
is a pleasure to play again. Keep up the good work
Springfield and do continue to use the fertilizer
every month or so. If you could just stop over
watering slightly the course would be perfect.

Played the new 9 holes for the first time. What
a shambles - stupid design intended to frustrate and
the fairway condition is awful. You should close
this 9 until the condition is better. As for the
original course - the fairways are awful as well
although the greens are good. Used to enjoy playing
this course but the maintenance is now bad -
especially fairways.

This used to be a wonderful course but is now
going downhill due to bad maintenance. Instead of
re-turfing damaged ares they throw down loads of
sand and the greens are inconsistent. Fairways are
okay at this time of year but if you go in the dry
season they are vastly over watered and that maybe
explains the lack of water in their biggest lake.
With good maintenance this would be a top ten course
in Thailand but I dont think the management realise
what a poor job is being done. Presently building a
new course and a large hotel which look good but I
fear for this lovely courses future, with the
present management. Please put it right and then
this will be good value for money despite being
expensive.

This course is highly over-rated and not meet
your expectations! The most expensive of the courses
I played in Hua Hin, it ranks 4th of the 4 I played.
They have serious drainage issues especially in
front of greens, this coupled with the fact they
haven't been watering the fairways meant you'd hit
an approach shot off dry grass that felt like
concrete, then land short of the green and plug in
mud that should be marked as GUR... no chance to run
up on the green here. The layout is challenging and
the greens were fast, but that didn't make up for
all the other flaws... you come here expecting a
world class championship course and you feel like
your at an average public course. The club house and
surrounding are very nice and the locker room is
very upscale... but I came here for good golf! The
course was busy and they teed players off every 8
minutes and expected you to play every hole in 8
minutes, not much time to enjoy your golf. I played
Majestic Creek twice and it was fabulous, I also
played Lakeview and and both were in far superior
condition... they also weren't packed so you could
play at a more relaxed pace, far more enjoyable
vacation golf.

Springfield is great! I reccomend all of you to
play it when you are in the Hua Hin / Cha am area.
The course is in great condition and the staff and
management is excellent. It is the only course in
Thailand where the marshal is actually doing his job
(thanks Mr. Sam). We went around in 4 hrs on a busy
Saturday afternoon. Awesome!

Played during a weekend of June 2003, the course
is in its best condition. Having long and
challenging fairways with lots of water hazards and
deep fairway bunkers required the discipline well
planed drives from the Tee to green. Fast and
furious greens are well protected by water hazards
and lots of bunkers. Beautiful scenario through out
all 18 holes you can enjoy. Rough are not too tough
to get of out it which is the only forgiveness in
this course. Well trained caddy and staffs. But if
you played early morning, bring your own
refreshment. The half way houses were only open
after 9 AM. Or else you will be dehydrated.
Clubhouse is fine. Not many golfers even in the
weekend, due to the price. It is highly recommended
if you can afford it.

| I always play in Springfield whenever I am in
Cha-Am (quite often) though I feel that the fees is
a bit on the high side. The course is beautiful and
relatively well maintained. It presents enough
challenges without being too undaunting for
beginners like me. The starter could do with a bit
of cheering up. Needs to smile and be a bit more
friendly...he scowls too |
